Virginia CLE USB Flash Drive Video Seminars – No Internet Connection Required.

Simply insert the portable drive (also known as a jump or memory drive) into your computer’s USB port and you are ready to view your CLE program – no Internet connection required! Great for travel, the files can also be transferred to view on a tablet or smartphone. Plus, you can can start watching in one location and finish in another—right where you left off.

Choose from programs ranging from 2 to 12 credit hours in a wide range of practice areas, all approved for pre-recorded MCLE credit for Virginia attorneys. More than half include ethics credit.

The video files are in MP4 format and can be transferred to your iPad, iPhone, or Android phone or tablet for viewing. Please keep in mind that MCLE regulations require a suitable educational environment.

Receiving MCLE Credit

Audio codes are embedded randomly throughout the seminar to meet the requirements of the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board. Please listen carefully for the codes and write them down when you hear them announced.

At the end of the seminar, you will see a link in your account to generate your certificate. Your MCLE certificate will carry the date obtain your certificate. We recommend generating your certificate immediately, especially if it is near the end of a reporting period.

If you have any trouble obtaining your certificate, please email distance_ed@vacle.org and include all the embedded codes in the seminar. Your timestamped email will assist us in generating your certificate.

Seminar Materials

Seminar written materials in electronic form (PDF) are included with most USB flash drive seminars at no additional cost. Printed materials are available for most USB seminars for an additional $30.

Refunds

If you are dissatisfied with the program for any reason and you have not obtained the MCLE Certification of Attendance form or otherwise received MCLE credit for it, please send both the USB flash drive and written materials back to Virginia CLE® for a full refund of the purchase price.

FAQs

No, USB Flash Drive Seminars are licensed on an individual basis. Only the original purchaser may claim MCLE credit.

MCLE regulations state that you may not receive credit for the same course in two successive credit years. For example, if you received MCLE credit for any part of a program in any form (e.g., live-on-site, phone, USB, online) between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022, you must wait until after October 31, 2023 to take it again for MCLE credit. Note: You must purchase Virginia CLE® programs each time you wish to receive MCLE credit for them.

If you discover you have already received credit for all or part of a purchased USB, please email us at distance_ed@vacle.org. You may return the USB for a full refund.

Yes, you are free to view the USB at different times and even on different computers! Please remember to note your current segment number and the number of minutes you have watched each time you stop.

When you return to the program, click the “Video Segments” button, then the segment number where you left off. Move the “scrub bar” at the bottom of the player to a point that is just before the point at which you stopped viewing the program. Be sure to include at least a little of the material you have already seen so you don’t miss any audio codes, which you will need to get your MCLE Certificate.
