Cosponsored with the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar

Family law is an ever-changing area that represents the majority of the civil cases heard by Virginia Circuit Courts. For more than 40 years, this program, cosponsored with the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, has offered family law attorneys from across Virginia an opportunity to stay up to date on new developments and see old friends. This year, the planning committee is excited to return to offering in-person presentations as well as the opportunity for people to attend virtually. The seminar will include six hours of live-interactive CLE credit for attorneys, ranging from annual legislative and case law updates to specific programs on the most pressing family law matters, all presented by an outstanding faculty.

This year’s topics include:

  • Bi-annual Case Law and Legislative Updates
  • An ethics session on our duty to report as legal professionals
  • A case study with a certified divorce financial analyst
  • Best practices when handed a scheduling order; and
  • An overview on preparing your case for appeal.

Options for Attending the Seminar:

On Tuesday, October 4, this program will be presented live on site in Richmond/Innsbrook, where people may attend in person, as well as virtually via live-interactive webcast and telephone.
On Thursday, October 6, this program will be presented live on site in Fairfax only, with no virtual attendance options.
