ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Lucia Anna Trigiani
, MercerTrigiani LLP / Alexandria

Prior to entering private practice in 1987, Ms. Trigiani was the property registration administrator for the Virginia Real Estate Board.  Her practice focus has been on all aspects of community association law - regulation, development, association operation and governance.  Ms. Trigiani served on the Virginia Real Estate Board from 1992 to 1996 and on the Virginia Board of Health Professions from 2006 to 2008.  In 2008, she was appointed to serve on the Common Interest Community Board; she served as Board Chair since it was established until her term ended in 2019.  And, she is a charter fellow of the Community Associations Institute College of Community Association Lawyers. Ms. Trigiani was President of The Virginia Bar Association in 2011 and the Virginia Law Foundation in 2017.  She became a fellow of the Law Foundation in 2013.  Ms. Trigiani serves on the boards of director and executive committee of the Library of Virginia Foundation.  She is past president of Virginia Free. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Flint Hill School in Fairfax and the Board of Visitors of Longwood University. And, she serves on the Board of Go Virginia.  Ms. Trigiani was named to the inaugural class of Influential Women of Virginia by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2009.  She was named to the 2012 class of Leaders in the Law, and was elected by the class as 2012 Leader in the Law.  In 2013, the Virginia State Bar Real Property Section Board of Governors recognized Pia and David Mercer with the Courtland Traver Award for their work in continuing legal education for the real estate bar.
