Information

Why Attend?

  • The new Rules went into effect July 1, 2020: How is it going?
  • Review the new Rules, and the rights and duties imposed on the government and defense
  • Get an update on Restricted Dissemination Material
  • Find out what challenges both sides are having with the Rules
  • Share tips on how the Rules play out in your practice

If your practice includes criminal cases, this is a must-attend seminar. This program is designed to provide practitioners with a forum where they can learn and participate in a discussion on the new Criminal Rules of Discovery that went into effect July 1, 2020.

This update on the 2020 program will review the rules and discuss the rights and responsibilities of both the Commonwealth and the defense. The speakers will discuss how the rules have been working in various jurisdictions since July 1, 2020, and the challenges that government and defense counsel have been facing as well as other potential issues. Each speaker will share tips and best practices from their perspective. The faculty includes speakers from different parts of the Commonwealth: a Circuit Court Judge, Commonwealth’s Attorneys, and defense attorneys.
