Cosponsored with the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar

Please note: The live-on-site presentations in Fairfax on October 5 and in Richmond on October 7 have been canceled. The October 13 webcast/telephone presentation will still be presented as previously scheduled.

For four decades, this annual event has brought together family law attorneys from across Virginia for an indispensable educational opportunity. Although the originally scheduled live seminars in Fairfax and Richmond have been canceled this year, this year’s virtual seminar on October 13 offers the usual six hours of live-interactive CLE credit for attorneys, ranging from annual legislative and case law updates to specific programs on the most pressing family law matters, all presented by an outstanding faculty.

This year’s topics include:

  • Bi-annual Case Law and Legislative Updates
  • An exploration of the physical, medical, and mental health aspects of childhood trauma, often caused by child abuse and neglect
  • An overview of tax issues family law attorneys need to know—including how to read personal and business tax returns to identify income and potential hidden assets
  • An ethics session on how to maintain civility in the profession while still remaining ethical
  • An exploration of income basics in the context of support decisions, with a discussion of the impacts of COVID-19 Stimulus Payments and the new Child Tax Credit Payments

The webcast/telephone registration options are eligible for discounts.
