Information

Why Attend?

Attendees will learn:

  • Which government benefits are of concern when a client has a disability
  • How to decide if government benefits need to be considered
  • How assets can be sheltered in a special needs trust
  • Which type of special needs trust can be used
  • What is an ABLE account and can it be utilized to protect benefits?
  • Cautions concerning use of annuity structures for a client with special needs

Personal injury attorneys often are faced with disability and incapacity issues with their clients, as well as government benefits concerns. This seminar will provide you with the information you need to identify these issues and provide your clients with strategies to structure settlements (not just annuities) to meet the unique needs of the client and protect their eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and other financial needs-based government benefits.
