Think of a “business dispute,” and almost inevitably you first will think of a claim based on breach of contract. Yet many times the facts may give rise to separate tort claims, and several of these tort claims may be available absent any contractual relationship.  Within the broad category of Business Torts are both common law and statutory claims under Virginia law.  Understanding how to assert these tort claims is a skill every business lawyer and litigator should possess.

Adam S. Nadelhaft, of Silver Spring, Maryland, joined Charlson Bredehoft Cohen & Brown, PC, in August 2018.
