The presentation provides a basic overview of landlord-tenant law with an emphasis on the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act (VRLTA). Focus areas include recent changes to the VRLTA, particularly in light of a growing awareness of eviction rates around the state, as well as issues commonly experienced by purchasers of residential and commercial real property. The material also takes a basic look at bankruptcy law as it affects landlord-tenant proceedings.
