You will learn 40 simple, time-tested tips to help build an advocate’s skills arsenal to support them in any courtroom proceeding. This fast-paced, entertaining, one-hour course provides practical guidance to help with overall presentation, openings, direct, cross, impeachment, evidentiary foundations, expert witnesses, and closing argument. This program will help get a newer attorney up to speed immediately, while also serving as a refresher, along with some new tips, for the experienced attorney.

Afterwards, we will adjourn to our climate-controlled private party suite that also offers 24 outdoor seats, as the Washington Nationals take on the Atlanta Braves. Enjoy a VIP experience with all-inclusive food and beverages, including beer and wine. Guest tickets available.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ray White / Charlottesville

Ray White began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Albany, NY, where he conducted numerous jury trials as a member of the Major Offense Prosecution Bureau and The Felony Trial Bureau. His practice career has also included FELA litigation, family law litigation, criminal defense, and appellate practice. Mr. White served as faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), teaching basic trial skills to attorneys at several hands-on training programs throughout the nation. He was also CLE faculty for the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division’s Office of Attorneys for Children, the New York Public Welfare Attorneys Association, and the New York State Basic Prosecutors Training Program. Mr. White, a graduate of Duke University and Albany Law School of Union University, is currently the Executive Director for the Virginia Law Foundation and Virginia CLE.

Your CLE is free. Every dollar of your attendance fee—less the cost of the event itself—will go directly toward funding Virginia Law Foundation community-based grants.


Regular Registration: $299 (Includes the seminar and admission to the party suite for the game with all-inclusive food and beverages, including beer and wine.)

Regular Registration, plus guest: $598 all-inclusive regular registration, plus guest not attending the seminar. Guests may enter the party suite 90 minutes prior to the game.

Cancellations made after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If we find a replacement purchaser, we will refund you the cancellation fee. There will be no refund for cancellation requests made after 5:00 p.m. the DAY BEFORE the program.
