A Comprehensive Overview for Every Virginia Practitioner—The Who, Why, What, When, and How

  • Learn why prenuptial agreements are beneficial
  • Review what prenuptial agreements can address
  • Discuss when prenuptial agreements should be drafted and executed
  • Hear how prenuptial agreements are enforced

Domestic relations attorneys are often required to help parties determine whether they need some form of agreement to protect assets prior to marriage or cohabitation. Regardless of whether your clients ultimately ask you to negotiate or draft a premarital agreement, you have an obligation to inform them of what the law provides in the absence of such an agreement and what an agreement can accomplish. You must know the legal parameters, the ethical issues, and how to properly guide your clients. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in a discussion with an experienced family law practitioner regarding the who, why, what, when, and how of prenuptial agreements.

PLUS, receive model prenuptial agreements, gain advice on how to discuss this delicate topic with your clients, and learn how to deal with third parties.
