ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Maureen E. Danker, Kelly Byrnes & Danker, PLLC / Fairfax

Maureen Danker’s practice of law has solely focused on domestic relations since April 2002.  Throughout her career she has counselled and assisted hundreds of clients, helping them navigate the complexities involved with divorce, custody, visitation, alimony, child support, asset valuation, and business valuation, whether through settlement negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Ms. Danker zealously represents her clients in a skillful, efficient, and cost-effective manner.  Many of her client’s objectives are obtained through settlement negotiations or mediation, which generally provide the most effective means for resolving family law matters.  However, under certain circumstances, litigation is the only means for a resolution, and Ms. Danker is an experienced litigator in all aspects of family law matters.  She has successfully represented clients throughout Northern Virginia, including Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun, Stafford and Prince William County Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts.

Ms. Danker is a member of the Virginia State Bar; former president and board member of the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar; former vice-chair of the 5th District Disciplinary Committee of the Virginia State Bar; Virginia Delegate to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates; active member of both Fairfax Bar Association and the Loudoun County Bar Association; and a member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the VWAA.

Sean P. Kelly, Kelly Byrnes & Danker, PLLC / Fairfax

A founding attorney at Kelly Byrnes & Danker, PLLC, Sean P. Kelly focuses his practice exclusively on family law matters. From the firm's offices in Fairfax and Leesburg, Virginia, he provides representation to residents throughout the portions of the state adjacent to the District of Columbia who are facing the end of their marriage and thus need advice and counsel with respect to divorce issues such as the division of complex assets and debt, child custody, child support and visitation, and alimony. A forceful courtroom advocate for his clients, Mr. Kelly also often attempts to seek an accord on some of these issues through alternative dispute resolution methods such as negotiations and mediation.  His style of practice, integrity, and demeanor have earned him the respect of his colleagues, adversaries, and the judges before whom he appears, and he has consistently been recognized as a top lawyer in Washingtonian magazine, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers in Virginia and/or Washington, D.C

Mr. Kelly was selected to and served on the Virginia State Bar Council from 2002–08 and was re-elected to Bar Council again in 2010 and 2013.   Previously he served as a member of the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Committee for the 5th District from 2000–06, twice serving as secretary, and was also elected to serve as the chair of the Virginia State Bar's Judicial Candidate Evaluation Committee in 2008 and 2009, a committee to which he was initially selected as a member in 2007.
