It’s called “The Rocket Docket” for a reason!

  • Understand the rules applicable in the Eastern District
  • Learn best practices from experienced litigators
  • Hear what the judges want—and don’t want
  • An extraordinary set of written materials—Virginia CLE’s Federal Civil Practice in Virginia—a $150 value!

This long-running seminar is a must-attend event for any attorney practicing in the Eastern District of Virginia. At this interactive program, you will hear directly from the judges that try your cases, and from some of the area’s finest litigators, as they discuss all relevant aspects of federal trial practice. Throughout the seminar, panelists will offer insight and practice tips to help you achieve the optimum outcome for your clients. Highlighted clearly will be those rules and procedures unique to the Eastern District—those aspects that insiders know and follow, and that outsiders ignore at their grave peril.

Experienced attorneys, as well as new attorneys, will benefit from the opportunity to learn first-hand the strategies that are most successful when trying cases in this court. Ask any of your colleagues who have practiced in the Eastern District: it is too late to learn the court’s rules once a case starts; you have to know them now. Don’t miss this opportunity—it will be a morning well spent!

HANDBOOK OPTIONS—The Virginia Lawyers Practice Handbook Federal Civil Practice in Virginia (upcoming 2018 edition)—a $150 value—will serve as the course materials. At the live on-site seminar, you can choose the handbook in print or electronic form. Electronic materials are completely searchable. Telephone seminar participants will receive the downloadable electronic version only.

Combining the outstanding written materials used in previous seminars devoted to practice in the Eastern District and Western District into a single useful reference, Federal Civil Practice in Virginia is the go-to book for every attorney appearing in Virginia’s federal courts.
