Why Attend?

You can help your client avoid today’s most dangerous business liability

  • Learn what to look for when confronting cyber risks
  • Add cyber issues to your checklist of items to discuss with your client
  • Understand the need for obtaining appropriate insurance coverage against cyber risks

Cyber threats are everywhere—those you see in the media only happen to be the most newsworthy, and many, many more occur out of sight. Your business clients, from the mom-and-pop shop to the largest conglomerates, are attractive targets, and you can help them prevent and recover from serious impacts on their business.

This seminar will not attempt to make you a computer security specialist. Rather, it will help you improve on what you’re already good at: recognizing risks your clients face, and helping the client to mitigate them. From corporate transactions, where assessing cyber exposure is critical to due diligence, to information management practices, to helping to select appropriate insurance coverage, the business lawyer’s advice to the client can help ensure success.

Among the topics to be discussed are:

  • Advising your business clients about security
  • Issues related to corporate transfers, closing, and website usage
  • The basics of cyber insurance
  • An overview of how business attorneys can discuss cyber insurance with their clients, including an overview of available coverages and pitfalls clients should avoid
