“Safe at Home—Personal Jurisdiction After Daimler v. Bauman” is a timely program that focuses on the emerging case law that drastically changes how courts evaluate general jurisdiction. This leading-edge, one-hour presentation will shine a bright light on the renewed nationwide focus related to evaluating the right to assert a jurisdictional defense—something that is having a profound impact on litigation throughout the country. It will also authoritatively address potential strategies to navigate these recent decisions that include:

  • Consent to jurisdiction by registration;
  • Consent to jurisdiction by an agreement between the parties;
  • Consent to jurisdiction by a defendant’s conduct in litigation;
  • Treating subsidiaries as agents of their parent corporation, subjecting the parent to general jurisdiction in any state where the subsidiaries are subject to general jurisdiction;
  • Disregarding the corporate distinction between the parent and the subsidiary;
  • Serving process on a high-level employee of a company traveling in the state; or
  • An expansive approach to specific jurisdiction

After the seminar, we will adjourn to our private suite and watch the Washington Nationals battle the Pittsburgh Pirates!

This seminar is non-discountable.
