With twenty-five years of experience in family law matters and small-business transactions and litigation, Julie Hottle Day brings a business sensibility to her divorce practice that benefits her clients in the short and long term. David Masterman, Masterman Krogmann PC / McLean

David Masterman has practiced for over 30 years in Northern Virginia. He is admitted to the bars of Virginia’s state and federal courts, and to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. In the past, he has served as chair of the Family Law sections of the Arlington County Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Virginia State Bar. He served on the Board of Governors for the Family Law Section for six years, and on the Board of Governors of the General Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar.  In 2016, he became a member of the Board of Governors of the Diversity Conference of the Virginia State Bar, where he serves as secretary.

Mr. Masterman frequently lectures to other family law attorneys at both basic and advanced family law seminars, with topics including equitable distribution, child custody, child relocation cases, trial strategies, discovery techniques, and case law updates.   He is also the author of a number of family law articles and materials used as resources by other attorneys, including Virginia CLE’s Negotiating and Drafting Marital Agreements.  Mr. Masterman received his undergraduate degree with honors from Grinnell College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and was graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Considered an outstanding litigation tactician and courtroom attorney, Mr. Masterman nevertheless emphasizes the importance of exploring settlement when possible. He is considered “mediation friendly” and is pleased to assist clients with that process. He also has significant
experience in preparing and presenting cases in the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

Mr. Masterman carries the “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for skill and ethics, and is listed in its volume on pre-eminent attorneys in the United States. He has been recognized and listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and he has been ranked as one of the top family lawyers by the Washingtonian and Washington Post magazines. He is listed in the Ten Leaders for Domestic Relations Attorneys for Northern Virginia. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Mr. Masterman practices in all aspects of family law, except adoption matters. He most commonly appears in the circuit courts of Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, and Arlington County, and Loudoun County, but also regularly represents parties in other Northern Virginia jurisdictions.

$320 regular registration. (Fee includes the seminar, printed materials, game ticket in a lower-level seating area (Section 118 and 119), Rinkside all-inclusive package with unlimited buffet dinner, beer, wine, soda, and water through the end of the second intermission).

Cancellations made after March 14, 2018, will incur a $185 cancellation fee for the cost of the game and buffet.  If we find a replacement purchaser, we will refund you the cancellation fee.  There will be no refund for cancellation requests made after 5:00 p.m. the DAY BEFORE the program.
