A pre-recorded streaming VIDEO replay of one session from the May 2017 live seminar, The Douglas W. Conner 38th Annual Advanced Estate Planning and Administration Seminar.
Cosponsored with the Wills, Trusts and Estates Section of The Virginia Bar Association
An estate planner must always be on guard when drafting a will that may supply an incentive for someone to contest anytime a person would take more through intestacy or under a prior will. Prof. Beyer discusses how a prudent attorney may recognize situations that are likely to inspire a will contest. He will then review a plethora of techniques, from the simple to the complex, which may reduce the probability of a will contest action occurring, and if one does, the chances of its success.
