Mental health issues in the criminal justice system are an inescapable problem. Jurisdictions are facing increased pressure to adequately identify, evaluate, and treat mental illness before criminal culpability can be determined. This portion of the program addresses one jurisdiction’s attempt to address these issues through the formation of a mental health (divert) docket.
