LEO: Conflict of Interests  LE Op. 371

Conflict of Interests.

July 21, 1980

Attorney Z represented clients A and B on unrelated matters. Some time

after the attorney undertook to represent A and B, A became adverse to B.

It is improper for Attorney Z to continue to represent either A or B in

the matter in which they are adverse to one another and he must withdraw

from representing both clients. [See II: DR:2-108(A)(1), DR:4-101(B),

DR:5-105(C), and DR:7-101(A)(1) and (3).]
